Playschool is cool for this little boy

Here's my poem inspired by my little boy, Lucien Lim, now two years and three months old:

Playschool is Cool

My son Luc really loves playschool;
He thinks it’s just super cool.
He runs in each day with a smile
And he makes all his gal pals drool.

Luc is only 2+ years old;
One smirk and his teachers are sold.
He’s a little hyper, seldom sits down;
To him, it’s the best playschool in town.

First day at school brings delight,
He shuns Mummy and runs out of sight.
No fear, no cries, no scary screams;
First day at school is all he dreams.

Oops, the teacher is here,
Time to pay attention.
Luc stays quiet only for a while,
Silence after all is not his style.

First week at playschool
And Luc catches a cold.
I scorn that awful flu virus
How dare you be so bold!

My advice to all mummies out there,
Take baby to doctor before school starts.
Get him vitamins and Scott's Emulsion
And off to school he bravely darts.

Luc learns ABC's and 123's,
He loves to explore all he sees.
It’s a world of nursery rhymes,
make-believe and fun jamborees!

Next month at playschool
Luc catches the dreaded cough.
Leaky nose and wheezy chest,
Mucus mess that's yucky and soft.

My advice to all mummies out there,
Get baby lots of fluids and rest.
It’s just nature and nurture
putting your sanity to the test.

Here comes Christmas, it’s all gifts galore
It’s candy, chocs, toys and more.
Christmas carols sung by the tree
It’s the best time for baby and me.

My advice to all mummies out there
Playschool is cool,
But you must be prepared
For germs and virus that play the fool.

Keep baby snuggly warm at school always
And listen to all the teacher says.
Then you’ll see baby jumping for joy
For he’s turning out to be a wonderful little boy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
