Baby easily startled by ... passing of wind

Baby Deidra, aged two and a half months, is a great sleeper. Amist thunderstorms or even the excitement of fireworks, she will be sound asleep, unlike some babies who would get startled by the noise.

However, this does not hold true when there is a sudden noise coming from herself, especially when passing wind.

It happened one day while I was feeding her. She was soundly having her meal when suddenly came a loud “phooot!” sound. What a shock! It was so loud that it startled her out of her serenity and she cried out loud - such a cry that it was hard to console her!

Even since then, she is very conscious in passing wind. So, each time when it happens or is about to happen, whoever is with her will “give the green light” that it is okay to pass gas.
