“Saber found his magical lollipop and they lived happily ever after ...”
Tze Jet read out loud his self-crafted story at the finale of the I am a Leader programme while the other participants mimed the story. It was a great moment as the children shared what they had learned and how they felt on the last day of the leadership programme organised by Discovery House (http://www.discovery-house.blogspot.com/).
Comments from the participants included:
“Thank you mum and dad for taking me to Discovery House. I have learned so much especially about goal setting, teamwork and being independent,” said Carmen, aged 11.
“I learned how to conduct presentations, build confidence and take risks,” said Ramya, aged 11.
“I learned about kindness, being brave and teamwork,” said Ryan Tan, aged 9.
Hank, the chief coach of Discovery House, explained to the parents their children’s journey over the past few weeks. Then a video presentation was shown and the finale was a storytelling presentation and a dance performance by the children.
The emcee for the day was Rumah Kasih's Daanesha who started the programme in November as a shy and quiet girl.
“It has been a great journey. I am truly touched to see how the children have grown and how they have gone out of their respective comfort zones to make a difference not only for themselves but also for others,” said Hank.
