The National Science Centre is holding a 'Kidz Month' in April. There will be activities as well as daily and weekend attractions during the month-long programme aimed at exposing children to science.
The concept for the programme is “Learn, Play & Think”. The activities are aimed at children from two to six years old as well as parents, guardians and NGOs that deal with children.
Three items lined up for the month are:
- Explore New Galleries!
From 9-5pm every day except Fridays, this promotion is on at the Kid's Discovery Place and Tiny Tots Area. The themes include astronomy, magnets, robots and bridges.
- Daily Attractions!
Every day except Fridays and it follows a schedule.
The themes are Budding Scientist (includes astronomy, magnets, robots and bridges), Let's Race (learn to quickly build robots and race them), Let's Sport (learn about heart rate, body temperature and muscle movement), Fun Show (video screening about easy science concepts), Let's Create (learn to make button badges and bookmarks from pressed flowers), Let's Paint (learn about colours), and Snap your Photo (take a photo at the National Science Centre – you can be a bug, butterfly or even a grasshopper!).
- Weekend Attractions!
On Saturdays and Sundays and it follows a schedule.
The themes are Art Stamping, Kids' Safety, Little Chef, Magic Show, Puppet show and Storytelling, and Love your Animals.
